Role Pairs Game, my first completed video game from 2018
Role Pairs Game is an old video game I developed in Unity and released in early 2018 for Android devices. It’s a turn-based role-playing game where players create pairs of cards to attack their enemy. The more pairs you flip during your turn, the stronger your attack becomes.
Everything in the game, except for the music, was created by me including models, textures, UI, and even manually recorded sound effects. At the time, I didn’t know how to code video games properly, so I used Playmaker, a visual scripting tool from the Unity Asset Store. By the time I finished the game, I had learned some basic programming skills and was able to write a few simple scripts. This project also taught me a lot about modeling, texturing, and video game development in general.
The music for the game was composed by Pikewin, another solo game developer best known for creating Nekomew’s Nightmares.
I initially created Role Pairs Game as part of my portfolio to break into the game industry but wasn’t able to land a job. So, I decided to try selling assets instead. I already knew some people who were successfully selling assets on the Unity Asset Store, and their success motivated me. You can check out my current asset collection on my main page.
You can download Role Pairs Game from Google Play or directly download the APK from here:
I’m also creating a new game. Check out the progress on this page.
